Exotel
Send SMS through Exotel. Once installed, this integration becomes available as an SMS delivery provider for the Messaging app.
Exotel is a cloud telephony provider used primarily in India.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites
Before setting up the Exotel integration, ensure you have:
- An active DashX account
- An Exotel account
- An approved sender ID and DLT registration, as required for SMS in India
Find your credentials
- Sign in to your Exotel dashboard
- Open the API settings for your account
- Note your API Key, API Token, and Account SID
- Note your Subdomain — Exotel serves each account from a regional subdomain, which appears in the API base URL shown in the console

The API Token grants access to your Exotel account. Store it securely.
Connect to DashX
- Log in to your DashX workspace
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations
- Click [+] to add a new integration and select Exotel
- Choose the environments you want to enable it for
- Enter the configuration below and save
Configuration
| Field | Description |

| API Key | The API key from your Exotel account. |
| API Token | The API token that pairs with the key. |
| Account SID | The SID identifying your Exotel account. |
| Subdomain | The regional subdomain your account is served from, taken from the API base URL in the Exotel console. |
tip
SMS to Indian numbers requires DLT registration of both your sender ID and your message templates. Messages that do not match a registered template are rejected by the operator, not by Exotel.
