Exotel

Send SMS through Exotel. Once installed, this integration becomes available as an SMS delivery provider for the Messaging app.

Exotel is a cloud telephony provider used primarily in India.

Before setting up the Exotel integration, ensure you have:

Find your credentials

  1. Sign in to your Exotel dashboard
  2. Open the API settings for your account
  3. Note your API Key, API Token, and Account SID
  4. Note your Subdomain — Exotel serves each account from a regional subdomain, which appears in the API base URL shown in the console

The API Token grants access to your Exotel account. Store it securely.

Connect to DashX

  1. Log in to your DashX workspace
  2. Navigate to Settings > Integrations
  3. Click [+] to add a new integration and select Exotel
  4. Choose the environments you want to enable it for
  5. Enter the configuration below and save

Configuration

API KeyThe API key from your Exotel account.
API TokenThe API token that pairs with the key.
Account SIDThe SID identifying your Exotel account.
SubdomainThe regional subdomain your account is served from, taken from the API base URL in the Exotel console.
tip

SMS to Indian numbers requires DLT registration of both your sender ID and your message templates. Messages that do not match a registered template are rejected by the operator, not by Exotel.
